Accredited Business Degree Programs

The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), which is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), is a leading specialized accreditation association that identifies and supports excellence in business education worldwide. The following Walden programs are accredited by ACBSP, a specialized accreditation association that identifies and supports excellence in business education worldwide:

Walden’s MS in Accounting and BS in Accounting programs are also accredited by ACBSP and have earned the organization's separate accounting accreditation, but are no longer accepting students.

Walden’s BS in Information Technology (BSIT) program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology), www.abet.org. Walden is a designated National Security Agency/Department of Homeland Security Center of Academic Excellence hosting a Center for Cybersecurity Education. This designation is based on the BSIT program which is not currently accepting new students.

Leadership

Kelley Costner 

Vice Provost

Dr. Kelley L. Costner currently serves as interim vice provost of the Division of Social Supports for Healthy Communities. Since 2004, Dr. Costner has served in numerous academic positions at Walden University, including dean for the Richard W. Riley College of Education and Human Sciences, dean of the School of Higher Education, Leadership, and Policy in the Richard W. Riley College of Education, associate dean for the college’s Administration and Postsecondary Education Division, and director of research studies for the EdD programs.

Dr. Costner research interests include culturally responsive pedagogy, African American learners, faculty development, and teacher attitudes and beliefs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Morgan State University, an MEd in School Improvement Leadership from Goucher College, and a doctorate in higher education specializing in community college leadership from Morgan State University.

 

Karlyn Barilovits 

Dean

Dr. Barilovits joined Walden in 2010 and has played an instrumental role in building several of Walden’s technology degree programs. In addition to 25 years in leadership and teaching in higher education, she has experience as a programmer with the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
